Zemanim: Sources & Checking

Tell Us About Your Project

Calendar and community publication study — illustrative concept
Illustrative design study · not a client commission

Location and Convention Matter

Zemanim are tied to location, date and the calculation conventions being used. Before a calendar is prepared, agree the locality, source and community requirements with the responsible reviewer.

A Reviewable Record

Retain the source, edition date and any agreed adjustments alongside the calendar data. Check daylight-saving transitions and unusual dates explicitly. Do not transplant times from another place or year because the layout looks similar.

Approval Before Print

Religious times and practice require appropriate competent review. Dove Press can discuss their presentation within the publication, but the printed layout should identify the agreed source and should not imply a halachic ruling by the designer.
