DOVE PRESS LIMITED (Company Number 10714682), trading as Dove Press, is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. Contact Daniel Golomb at design@dovepresspublishing.com or +44 (0) 730 503 8930. Our business and correspondence address is 22 Elm Park Avenue, London, N15 6AT. Our registered office is 19–20 Bourne Court, Southend Road, Woodford Green, Essex, IG8 8HD.
We handle the contact details, organisation details, correspondence and project information you supply when you make an enquiry or commission work. This can include manuscripts, artwork, instructions, proofs and delivery details. Existing customer accounts and orders may also contain addresses, order history and payment references. Please supply only information relevant to the work and use an agreed method for confidential project material.
We use information to respond to enquiries, prepare quotations, agree and carry out work, arrange delivery, administer accounts and resolve questions or complaints. For a contract with you, or steps you ask us to take before entering one, our basis is contractual necessity. When dealing with someone on behalf of a business or organisation, we rely on our legitimate interests in managing that working relationship. We also rely on legitimate interests to protect the website, prevent misuse and maintain necessary business records, and on legal obligations for applicable accounting, tax and other required records.
If your manuscript or artwork contains personal information about other people, please establish that you may supply it for the proposed work. Where we process such material on your instructions, we agree the scope, responsibilities and handling arrangements for that project. Please discuss sensitive material before sending it.
The website and its security services may process technical information such as IP addresses, requested pages, browser information and security events. Necessary cookies or similar storage can support sign-in, customer accounts, security and a basket where those functions are used. Some static website files are delivered through Automattic’s content delivery network; your browser contacts that service to request the files.
Clarity session recording, Jetpack visitor statistics, WooCommerce campaign attribution and the Mailchimp pop-up and shopping-tracking scripts are disabled for this catalogue launch. We will explain any later optional tracking and provide the choices required before introducing it. Previously stored cookies may remain until they expire or you clear them in your browser. Restricting necessary cookies can affect account and sign-in functions.
Sending a project enquiry does not subscribe you to a mailing list. Mailchimp is used to manage mailing records and mailshots where we have an appropriate basis to contact you. You can unsubscribe using the link in a marketing email or contact us directly. Withdrawing marketing consent does not affect earlier lawful use or the messages needed to handle your enquiry or agreed work.
We use service providers where needed for website hosting and security, business email and document storage, accounting, payments and mailing-list administration. These include Fasthosts, Microsoft 365, WordPress/WooCommerce and related security services, Xero and Mailchimp. A production partner, courier or professional adviser may receive information needed for the particular work or legal requirement. Payment services handle payment details through their own systems; please do not send full card details by email.
Some providers operate internationally, so information may be processed outside the UK, including in the United States and other countries used by their services. Where UK transfer rules apply, the relevant arrangements use applicable adequacy provisions or contractual safeguards recognised under UK law. The providers’ published data-processing terms describe their arrangements: Microsoft, Xero and Mailchimp. Please contact us for details of the arrangements relevant to your information or how to obtain a copy of applicable safeguards.
Retention depends on the information and its purpose. We consider the work commissioned, an ongoing customer relationship, whether source files are needed for agreed revisions or reprints, accounting and tax requirements, complaints and the need to establish or defend legal rights. Information is not kept merely because it could be collected. Contact us about a particular record, project file or deletion request; a request may be limited by a legal obligation or another applicable exemption.
Where comments are available, submissions include the information entered and technical information used for security and moderation. Comments require manual review and approval before publication. If avatars are enabled, an anonymised email hash may be sent to Gravatar; see Automattic’s privacy information. Social-media links and other external links lead to services with their own privacy terms. Material deliberately published on a public page can be viewed and copied by others.
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal information. You may also withdraw consent where processing relies on it. You have the right to object to direct marketing, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests in circumstances covered by the law. Contact us using the details above so we can identify the information and consider the request. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity. If you do not provide details needed for a quotation, order or delivery, we may be unable to carry out that request.
Please contact us if you have a concern about your information. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. This notice does not restrict any additional rights that apply under mandatory law in your location.
We update this notice when our services or information handling changes. Version prepared: 21 October 2026.
