Finishing & Lamination
The final surface changes the experience.

The final surface changes the experience.

Lamination adds a bonded film to the printed sheet; a coating or varnish is a different treatment. Gloss can give a reflective surface, matt a more subdued one, and soft-touch a tactile finish. Durability and marking resistance depend on the particular product.
Consider whether the piece needs to be written on, folded, handled repeatedly or recycled through a particular route. Foil, embossing and selective varnishes can add emphasis, but require suitable artwork and production planning.
A finish can change how colours and dark areas appear. Ask to see a relevant sample and confirm compatibility with the stock and process. These are options to discuss, not a statement that every treatment is available on every job.
