Build a document that can be maintained.
Start With Styles
Paragraph, character and object styles help make a long document consistent. Parent pages, grids and book features can support recurring structures. Establish these before relying on manual formatting across many pages.
Check Before Export
Use preflight to identify issues such as missing links, missing fonts and overset text, with a profile appropriate to the job. Review the actual page content as well: a technically valid file can still contain the wrong words or images.
Deliver for the Agreed Purpose
Confirm the printer’s export requirements. If editable source is needed, agree how links and fonts will be supplied subject to their licences. Retain a dated version of the approved document and final PDF.
