Vector artwork describes shapes and can often be scaled cleanly; raster images are made of pixels. Logos are usually best supplied in their original vector format where available. A file extension alone does not guarantee the contents are vector.
JPEG is commonly used for photographs; repeated lossy saves can damage detail. PNG can preserve transparency but is not a universal print format. Assess pixel dimensions at the final printed size: changing a resolution label does not create detail.
Provide original files, usage permission and captions or placement instructions. Avoid images copied from messaging previews or web pages where better originals exist. Confirm the printer’s PDF, bleed, colour and resolution requirements before export.
